As I reflect back on my younger years, I recall that I wanted to become a writer; My biggest dream was to publish my own book.
As I am sitting here and writing, I smile to myself. It's truly remarkable how certain situations and significant people in our lives influence who we become.
I believe that my passion for expressing my thoughts on paper was prompted by wanting to gain my fathers adoration; I wanted him to be proud of me.
I remember myself telling him; You'll see, one day I will become a writer.
I had no idea what to do or how I intended to bring my dreams into reality.
Fast forward several decades later... I finally did it!
We all have dreams, hopes, and aspirations we want to achieve; But how do we get closer to realizing our most inner desires?
What is success? What is the driving force pushing us forward on the road to success?
The stronger the meaning we associate something we are passionate about, the more time and energy we invest in it.
In reality, becoming successful has more to do with our attitude than being born to the "right" parents or being lucky.
If you’re dreaming about becoming a successful person, you must know what it specifically means to you; perhaps, becoming a millionaire, raising a family, creating a non profit organization, etc.
Firstly, you have to know what you want, be willing to do everything in your power to acquire it, work diligently, and keep believing in yourself, then, success will come your way!
When I finally sat down to write my book, I set a specific timeline in which I followed precisely; My goal was to finish writing in six months time.
I decided to write everyday for two hours; I didn't make any excuses, because I was determined to finish what I had started.
My intention was and still is, to help and empower others through my writing. To uplift those who may have lost hope, by offering an alternative point of view to how they interpret their own reality. I see it as win-win. I truly feel blessed to be in the position to give unconditionally.
Hopefully by now, you've realized that nothing is going to happen if you don’t pursue your dreams. However, everything could happen if you do.
