In order for you to experience peace, you must resolve and release issues from the past that are still lingering.
You are now aware of what it is doing to you; what is it causing you to think and feel now, in this moment.
Why keep a hurtful occurrence from the past "alive"? Why give it power in the here and now?
You know it's not exactly making you feel good, you know that it's preventing you from what you want to achieve, so why hold on?
Granted, it may have been protecting you or serving you in some way, but the time has come to free yourself.
Part of healing and forgiveness is to always be able to see the gift that you got out of it.
Instead on focusing on the pain, concentrate on what you've gained in the process. The experiences and the lessons you've learned along the way.
Forgive yourself and others: clear out and flush away thoughts and emotions that are holding you back.
Give yourself full access to freedom, peace, happiness and creativity in the now moment.
