STOP WORRYING AND START LIVING

We all spend much of our time worrying. Sometimes we have a good reason to be concerned, and other times, it's our natural survival instincts that awaken in us.

Often times we worry when we spend our time thinking about events from the past, or events that hadn't occurred yet in the distant future; completely disregarding the NOW moment.

Either way, it isn't a healthy state to be in for long periods of time.

Here are 6 effective ways to lower our levels of concern:

1) Breathe: Deeply and slowly (we sometimes forget to just breathe)

2) Assess the facts: Ask yourself; “Am I facing clear and present danger?”
Why am I worried?

3) Keep yourself occupied: Shift your focus elsewhere

4) Reality check: How much truth is in your worry and how much of it is your imagination?

5) Be present: Limit your thoughts only to what is happening in the moment

6) And finally, don't forget to smile. Have trust that everything happens for a reason and that whatever you are concerned with will eventually pass.
