We are all enslaved by or addicted to something ...
Not one person isn't a prisoner in some way, to something beyond his control, a place that does not allows him to be who he really is.
The irony is that we are the ones who hold ourselves captive - we are both the warden and prisoner.
It's so much easier for us to just swallow a pill, and mute the pain; we create our own "jail-houses"; addiction to chemical and natural substances, or a constant need for acceptance from the environment.
Truthfully, no matter what the habit, bondage, or addiction is, whether it is a drug, or the need for recognition... It is NOT easy to overcome.
As soon as one tries to break free, for example, from an alcohol addiction, often, the situation worsens.
The person becomes ill and goes through excruciating pain.
Every day becomes a difficult battle between what the body requires, and what the soul is longing for - to be free - detached from any physical need.
When a person decides to change his ways, and overcome his harmful habit, he must realize, it is not an easy task ...
However, once you decide to rebel, the attack begins..
If you think you'll have it pleasant and easy, you are deceiving yourself - maybe it's better not to go out to war ...
Everything you want to achieve in life, comes with an attached price tag - there are no freebies!
The price is hard work and the challenges are not easy - darkness, pain, and maybe you'll even have to face some "skeletons in the closet ..."
Each person and their skeletons ...
If you do not think you can overcome and rise above your nature, don't go on this journey.
Arriving at true freedom, wisdom, enlightenment, and revelation, never comes "free of charge".
After all, to get to what is truly important in life, something that provides a good enough reason to live, has to have a price - to reap the results, you must go through a journey.
But when the soul's force overcomes the challenge, there's nothing more satisfying - breaking through heavy shadows, the light getting brighter, and brighter, and salvation is finally revealed.
We can not live in true joy and satisfaction, when we are dependent on something, addicted to something, or when we are waiting for something to happen - that's an addiction.
One who is not liberated can never reach true fulfillment and satisfaction ~
